Ivan
We've pitched our vision for conquering Parkinson's hundreds of times. And we’ve raised the money to keep this project moving forward.
Over the past couple of weeks, a couple of specific conversations stood out.
We were offered an introduction to a large fund. After reviewing our pitch deck, they told us they were not interested. Their reason was that the approach "... seems theoretical and not mainstream." That tells me they were the wrong target, since we are looking for investors who seek transformative approaches.
A recent engagement started as each of our investments started. Someone with an interest in Parkinson's disease saw our webinars, podcasts and/or newsletters and contacted us to learn more. That's how we raised money to get this far and how we seem poised to get the first clinical trial launched.
As before, the individual was affected (directly or indirectly) by Parkinson's and was sophisticated financially. But this time was different. This potential investor knew Ivan. He asked me how I got started on this path as a cardiologist and I told him the story. He listened patiently and then when I was done, he told me he knew Ivan.
Ours is the right path. Not only is the science strong but serendipitously I am contacted by a friend of Ivan's to discuss the possibility of investing. Who could predict that?
I'm not giving odds, but here's my prediction: we'll reaise the money necessary to launch the pilot trial in Australia, targeting the initial dosing for the end of 2026 or early 2027 with our clinical proof of concept data ready to be shared by the end of 2027.
